Overview & Scope

  • Journal: JEST (ISSN: 2504-8716) is a Quarterly (4 issues/year), peer-reviewed journal published by ABSU.

  • Scope: Focuses on theoretical and applied research in Physical, Biological, Health, Environmental, and Management Sciences, as well as Science Education and Engineering Technology.

  • Gold Open Access: Articles are immediately and freely available worldwide under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

  • Editorial Independence: Follows ICMJE and WAME standards—decisions are based strictly on research merit.

Information for Authors

  • Peer Review Process: Operates under a strict double-blind peer-review workflow to maintain absolute objectivity.

  • Plagiarism & Screening: Pre-screened via industry software (e.g., Turnitin/Crossref). Plagiarism, text recycling (self-plagiarism), or uncredited paraphrasing results in summary rejection and potential submission bans.

  • Formatting: Submissions must be in MS Word format using SI units. Present variables in italics and math equations as editable text (denote powers of $e$ as $\exp$).

  • Specialized Scientific Requirements (JEST Specific):

    • Plant Research: Field studies and experimental research on plants must comply with local/national laws. Manuscripts must explicitly state the permits or permissions obtained for specimen collection.

    • Geological/Paleontological Material: Submissions detailing new materials must include crystal-clear provenance (origin) information and requisite legal permissions.

    • Animal Research: Experiments involving vertebrates must comply with national/institutional guidelines, require prior ethics committee approval, and are recommended to follow ICLAS ethical guidelines.

  • Software & Code Availability: Any custom code or software described in the manuscript must be made available to editors/reviewers and archived in a public repository with a unique identifier.

  • AI Policy: LLMs (like ChatGPT) cannot be credited as authors. AI use in the actual research must be disclosed in the Methods section (AI copy-editing does not need disclosure). AI-generated images/videos are prohibited.

  • Data Availability: Authors must provide a Data Availability Statement and share raw data for non-commercial research use. Proof corrections must be returned within two weeks.

Information for Reviewers & Literature Integrity

  • Strict AI Ban: Reviewers must not upload submitted manuscripts into generative AI tools to safeguard intellectual property and data confidentiality.

  • Data Integrity Checks: Reviewers are empowered to request unprocessed data files (such as raw image blots or sensor logs) to verify data integrity.

  • Correction & Retraction: Minor corrections use a formal Corrigendum/Erratum. Fundamental errors, data fabrication, or ethical breaches will result in a full retraction following COPE guidelines.

Liability & Conduct

  • Author Warranty: Authors guarantee work is original, non-defamatory, and doesn't infringe on third-party copyrights. Authors hold ABSU harmless against legal breaches.

  • Conduct: Zero tolerance for hostile behavior, bullying, or discrimination against journal staff by authors, reviewers, or readers.
